Methodology - Delivering and Collecting Data
Research projects that examine the interface between science and technology and society often require the collection and analysis of social data. The most common response from this need for data is to conduct a survey. After all, everyone has had experience answering surveys, and it is usually a simple and straightforward procedure. Many people conclude from this experience that writing and administering their own survey will be a simple and straightforward matter as well.
However, in actuality, the intuitions people form about survey research from their own experience are often incorrect.
Surveys can be a powerful and useful tool for collecting data on human characteristics, attitudes, thoughts, and behavior. And, sometimes, conducting a survey is the only available option for acquiring the data necessary to answer an important research question.
Eduresearch can deliver your questionnaire or help you plan and script and then provide the delivery and data collection function*. We take great care in planning surveys and questionnaires undertaken as the information and responses it receives cannot be altered. Meticulous planning and testing is required.
We can provide a methodology statement if you need to include this in your research paper and we will also provide all the data records and responses in Excel as CSV files which can be placed into other programmes. Our web Interface outputs PDF or Tiff webscreens which can be used for publishing.
* A typical 10-15 question email survey to the National School Database to include scripting and data delivery reports would cost £2,500.00 See the FAQ's for more information.
